Roads and Maritime Services
Eden Karimi – Project Manager
Australian and NSW governments are jointly funding the $105 million upgrade of Mulgoa Road, Penrith from Union Road to Museum Drive including the Sydney Trains rail bridge over Castlereagh Road. The project will ease congestion and initiate future growth and development along the Mulgoa Road corridor.
The project is subject to key risks including; Sydney Trains track possessions to facilitate the bridge construct involving a sliding bridge construction over a four day weekend. Additionally, the project is driven by a highly complex utility relocation program. CCHD Senior Project Engineer will manage the delivery of the utility relocation works amongst other tasks.
McConnell Dowell Constructors have been engaged as the Principal Contractor to delivery this high profile project which has set milestones associated with pre-scheduled track possessions.
Innovation or something else worth mentioning
Key stakeholders including Penrith City Council, Westfield Penrith, Penrith Panthers, Lion Dairy, Museum of Fire and the greater Penrith CBD will benefit from the upgraded network.
