Pat was the Principal Road Design Engineer, Roads and Maritime Services, a position he held since 2007. In this leadership role, he managed the road design discipline in Roads and Maritime, involving design scoping and review of the major road projects delivered in NSW.
These projects included the major Hume Highway Alliance projects, the Pacific Highway program and the Sydney development program. He also represented the RMS/RTA on the Austroads Panel for the Guide to Road Design for a period of six years.
Before joining the road design branch, Pat had extensive experience in the program and project management of major road projects, including five years as Manager, Project Management Office, RTA.
Since 1992, he has lectured at the University of Technology, Sydney in road and transportation engineering, at both the undergraduate and post graduate levels.
Since 2014, Pat has consulted back across the NSW roads sector to numerous entities, primarily in the role of a Principal Technical Advisor, with a focus of road design and construction.
